These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the matosense.com website, the purchase of MatoSense hardware, and the use of the MatoSense web platform at soil.matosense.com (together, the "Services"), provided by Heisenberg Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Lalitpur, Nepal. By using the Services you agree to these terms.
1. Products and services
- Hardware — the MatoSense Soil Sensor Platform measures soil pH, NPK nutrients, moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity (EC), and includes a connected thermal printer for instant field reports. We ship the device all over the world.
- Web platform — soil.matosense.com provides live dashboards, historical charts and data export for your sensors. Use of the web platform is free of charge; we do not charge subscriptions or per-reading fees.
2. Accuracy of sensor readings — important
Sensor output is not a certified value. MatoSense readings are approximations produced using well-known, globally trusted measurement techniques (Frequency Domain Reflectometry for moisture, thermal resistance for temperature, electrical conductivity for salinity, potentiometry for pH, and spectral and electrochemical analysis for NPK) to give you a very immediate, in-field picture of soil health. These are the best techniques used worldwide for instant soil assessment, but they are not a substitute for laboratory analysis. A laboratory soil test is always required where high-accuracy or certified results are needed — for example for regulatory compliance, certification, research publication, or high-value commercial decisions. You use sensor readings at your own judgment and risk.
3. Accounts
Platform accounts are provisioned for hardware customers and their teams. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
4. Orders, shipping and payment
Hardware orders are confirmed by our sales team (sales@matosense.com). Prices, delivery times and shipping costs are quoted per order and destination. International customers are responsible for any import duties or taxes applicable in their country. Returns and refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
5. Intellectual property
MatoSense is a registered trademark of Heisenberg Engineering Pvt. Ltd. All content, software, hardware designs and documentation remain our property or that of our licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the platform or firmware except as permitted by law.
6. Data
Your soil data belongs to you. We process it to provide the Services as described in our Privacy Policy and, for organizational customers, the Data Processing Agreement.
7. Warranties and liability
Hardware is covered by the warranty described in the Refund Policy. The free web platform is provided "as is" with the service targets described in the Service Level Agreement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including crop, yield or business losses arising from reliance on sensor readings, which are indicative approximations as described in Section 2.
8. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the latest version is always available on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nepal.
