Soil Sensor & Soil Health Testing Products

Sensing technology engineered in Lalitpur, Nepal for climate, agriculture, energy and environment.

Flagship product

MatoSense Soil Sensor Platform

Available

Real-time soil testing — pH, NPK, moisture, temperature & EC

Our flagship smart soil test sensor measures soil pH, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), moisture, temperature and electrical conductivity (EC) directly in the field, using the measurement techniques trusted worldwide for instant soil health assessment. Readings stream to a free live dashboard, and a connected thermal printer prints a soil report on the spot. We ship the device all over the world — and we never charge for using the web platform.

  • Soil pH by potentiometry — voltage from hydrogen ions (H⁺) vs a reference standard
  • NPK nutrients by spectral & electrochemical analysis of N, P and K ions
  • Soil moisture by Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR)
  • Soil temperature via internal thermistor (thermal resistance)
  • Electrical conductivity (EC) — dissolved salts and salinity monitoring
  • Connected thermal printer — print a soil health report instantly in the field
  • Free web platform: live dashboard, historical charts, CSV/Excel export
  • Land-area support in Nepalese units (Bigha, Katha, Dhur, Ropani, Ana)
  • Worldwide shipping — platform use is free, forever

Note: sensor readings are instant in-field approximations produced with well-known, globally trusted measurement techniques — they are not certified values. A laboratory soil test is always required when certified, high-accuracy results are needed.

Measurement science

How the Sensor Measures Soil Health

Each parameter is measured with the technique used worldwide for instant soil assessment.

Soil Moisture

Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR)

Measures the change in the soil's dielectric constant caused by water content, giving an instant reading of how much water the soil holds.

Temperature

Thermal Resistance

An internal thermistor changes its electrical resistance based on the surrounding soil temperature, tracking the root-zone climate continuously.

Electrical Conductivity (EC)

Electrical Conductivity

Measures the current flow between pins to determine the concentration of dissolved salts (salinity) — a key indicator of soil fertility and irrigation quality.

Soil pH

Potentiometry

Measures the electric voltage generated by hydrogen ions (H⁺) in the soil compared to a reference standard, revealing acidity or alkalinity.

Nutrients (NPK)

Spectral & Electrochemical Analysis

Measures the specific electrical signals and absorption responses of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium ions to estimate nutrient availability.

Instant insight, honest accuracy

These are the techniques used worldwide to instantly assess soil health in the field. Sensor readings are close approximations, not certified values — a laboratory soil test is always required when high-accuracy, certified results are needed.
